EGERSZALOK
The Tufière
Hungary_Egerszalok.jpg

The 1,200 square metre tufa field in EGERSZALÓK is an emblematic rarity also on a global scale, as there are only two other sites with similar natural formations. Warm water from the depths found its way to the surface here, while the limestone deposited on the hillside formed a white, shiny surface. The deposits accumulate over the years: the white limestone ledges, the small pools filled with water and the lacy edges and curtains of limestone, which offer a marvellous sight even in daylight, are constantly changing, and the sumptuous evening lighting in the colours of the rainbow makes them even more fascinating for hikers passing by or bathers in the thermal baths just opposite. Let yourself be captivated by these sites!
